Dr Jill Turner

Jill is a sociologist specialising in the Social Studies of Science and Medicine and the Public Understanding of Science. A former registered nurse and Health Visitor, she pursued a doctoral scholarship in the 1990’s.

She has worked as both a lecturer in Sociology, Social Policy and Women’s Health and as a Research Fellow for many years variously in England and Ireland, for example, the University of Lancaster, University College London, Bristol University, Queen’s University of Belfast and at both DCU and UCD in health related research and teaching.

She is an experienced project manager including research funded by the EU, Wellcome  and the Dept. of Health in England, N.I and Ireland. She is currently project manager for EARL/PREPARE in Dublin and until September 2015 an Honorary Research Fellow at the University of Lancaster.
